WHAT IS A CBD EDIBLE?

Just as the word edible suggests, a CBD edible is anything containing CBD that can be taken orally. CBD edibles are a fast, easy way to ingest CBD. Almost any food or beverage can be infused with CBD, making CBD edibles one of the most popular ways to use this cannabinoid.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Full spectrum CBD is a whole-plant cannabidiol (CBD) oil with high concentrations of CBD, as well as all other cannabinoids, terpenes, and trace amounts of THC (at or below .3%), which are found in the cannabis plant. This is compared to broad spectrum CBD and isolate CBD.

Broad spectrum CBD is a partial-plant cannabidiol (CBD) oil with high concentrations of CBD, as well as some cannabinoids, terpenes, and non-detectable amounts of THC.

Isolate CBD is a single substance made from the cannabis plant. Cannabidiol (CBD) is extracted out of hemp oil. CBD isolate has no other cannabinoids, no terpenes, and no THC.

This is a subjective question as everyone has a different condition that they are working on. Some clients ingest our edibles once a day, while others may need several doses per day. Newcomers may want to start with one serving to see how they react and then increase the usage over time, if needed. Your body will be the judge on the correct dosage.

Most consider CBD edibles safe to use. However, according to a study published in 2017 some people may experience side effects using CBD, including fatigue, diarrhea, changes in appetite, and changes in weight.

Always consult your doctor to make sure cannabidiol (CBD) is safe for you. CBD can interact with medications. You should get your primary care physician’s approval prior to using CBD if you are pregnant or nursing.

As with any edible product, ingesting is the slowest way to absorb a substance into the bloodstream. Comparing ingestion to inhalation or rectally via suppositories, CBD edibles need to go through the digestive process. In other words, it can take 1-2 hours for the effects to be felt. The time is largely dependent on the user’s body and how quickly it reacts to the CBD.

Please check with the state you are located in. Each state has different rules. Pacific Roots does not recommend that our CBD or hemp edibles be used by anyone under the age of 18 without parental consent.

All CBD oil that goes into Pacific Roots CBD products is organically farmed. Each batch of CBD oil used is third-party tested for pesticides before manufacturing into products.

The short answer is no, you cannot overdose on CBD or hemp and you are not likely to get sick. However, because it takes longer for CBD to take effect through the digestive system, if you don’t “feel” something right away, it does not mean that you need to take more. Give it some time. A 2017 W.H.O. Report concluded that CBD is “generally well-tolerated with a good safety profile”. The report also states that “in humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.” However, according to another study published in 2017 some people may experience side effects, including fatigue, diarrhea, changes in appetite, and changes in weight.

Always consult your doctor to make sure CBD or hemp is safe for you. CBD can interact with some prescription medications and should never be used/taken if you are pregnant or nursing.

If you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed on a product container, do not use the product.

Full spectrum CBD is derived from hemp and per federal regulations cannot be used in products if it has more than 0.3% THC.

THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the chemical found in marijuana and is responsible for most of its psychological effects. Per the National Institute on Drug Abuse, THC acts a lot like the cannabinoid chemicals made naturally by the body.

Full spectrum CBD does not contain enough THC to cause any of the psychological effects referred to above.

In some cases, CBD products may be made from marijuana and can have more than 0.3% THC. Pacific Roots does not sell marijuana products.

CBD edibles such as CBD gummies and CBD tinctures work with special receptors in your body called the ECS (endocannabinoid system). This ECS has properties throughout your body: in your immune system, brain, spine, elsewhere. Why is this important? The ECS helps with balancing your body to a state of well being and improving your overall health.

The first product most CBD beginners start with are edibles. Within the edible category, most start with CBD tinctures. However, this doesn’t mean this is a universal rule.

We always suggest starting with the recommended dosage on the product bottle of CBD tincture or CBD gummy bottle. However, listen to your body. Everyone tolerates cannabidiol (CBD) differently. For example, each CBD gummy contains 25mg of CBD. We recommend starting with one CBD gummy.  Some long-time users of CBD might take up to 250mg a day, though we definitely don’t recommend starting anywhere near this amount.

Pacific Roots CBD edibles are made in a USA cGMP facility that is certified food-grade using USA organically grown hemp. We manufacture in a clean room following many food safety standard operating procedures. Our facility receives many state audits with a passing grade every time. We test our products in-house and all product batches are tested at third-party testing laboratories.

Please follow the guidelines on the label of the CBD tincture and CBD gummies. Always start off using label recommendations or less and then work your way up.

No, CBD edibles made from hemp don’t have enough THC in them to create a psychoactive feeling. Hemp is defined as having at or less than 0.3% THC. Products with THC greater than 0.3% are called marijuana. Pacific Roots does not manufacture marijuana.
