WHAT ARE CBD GUMMIES?
CBD gummies are a tasty edible that is easy to consume. Gummies are infused with CBD for the health benefits that cannabinoids provide. This is one of the easiest ways of incorporating CBD into your daily routine. They are great to take on the go or have as a midday snack. Whenever you find yourself in need of some relaxation try a gummy with CBD.
Pacific Roots CBD gummies have 30 servings per bottle. Each gummy contains a serving of 25mg full spectrum CBD, or one CBD gummy.
Yes! Pacific Roots CBD gummies are vegan. They are made from all natural flavors and colors and have 30 servings per bottle. Each serving has 25mg of CBD.
CBD is commonly added to the gummies by two different methods. The cannabidiol (CBD) can be sprayed on the outside of the gummy or infused during the mixing of the ingredients.
Sprayed: This is the easiest, cheapest, and quickest way to make a CBD gummy. A CBD manufacturer typically purchases bulk gummies from a candy manufacturer. Then the CBD is literally sprayed onto the gummies, much like the way you’d spray paint your house. The CBD is only applied to the outer surface of the gummy.
This can cause several different issues for the gummy:
- All the CBD is located on the outer surface of the gummy and rubs off on the interior of the gummy bottle.
- The gummy loses its CBD potency quickly as it easily falls off the gummy. For example, a 25mg gummy could drop to 5mg in a matter of days to months.
- The gummy tastes more bitter at first. The first thing you taste is the CBD, not the gummy.
- The gummies are difficult to test. The COAs (certificate of analysis) become inaccurate.
- Light kills CBD. More of the CBD is exposed to light being on the surface of the gummy.
- Has limited shelf life. Once you buy them you should eat them asap.
Infused: This is a more time consuming and expensive way to produce CBD gummies. However, infusing the gummies produces a high quality gummy that consumers are hoping to get when purchasing a CBD product. This involves mixing the CBD into the actual gummy formula, molding them, and drying them (for at least a week!). The result is a gummy with CBD in the actual DNA of the gummy, not just sprinkled on top.
Benefits of infused gummies:
- The CBD doesn’t rub off the gummy.
- The gummy can hold the CBD potency for a longer period of time.
- The gummy taste is better, with no large CBD taste at the beginning.
- The COA tests are accurate and reliable.
- The gummy has a long shelf life.
If you are looking for a quality infused gummy we recommend Pacific Roots. All Pacific Roots CBD gummies are made with infusion and only contain natural ingredients.
We all know and recognize the popular types of gummy treats (watermelon slices, peach rings, sour strips, etc.). If those are claiming to have CBD in them, beware! They have likely been purchased cheap in bulk and then sprayed with CBD.
An easy test is to rinse the gummy until all the sugar and coating is gone. The next step is the tell-tale sign. Bite into and chew the gummy, if it tastes like a normal gummy… it probably is! If, after you eat it, you can taste a slight bitter aftertaste of hemp… you’ve got an infused gummy!
Yes! We use no artificial flavors or colors in our CBD gummies. We take pride in making the healthiest, most natural gummies on the market.
When looking at the market for CBD gummies we recommend consumers to review what they are putting in their bodies. A few things to look for are: how the gummies are made, is there a COA, are they made with pectin, and who runs the company.
First, you need to find a CBD manufacturer that is upfront and transparent about their manufacturing process. It is important to find a gummy manufacturer that infuses their CBD gummies, not sprays them with CBD. Only gummies that are infused with CBD hold their CBD potency. Unfortunately, most of the CBD gummies on the market are sprayed because the company is trying to make a few extra bucks.
Second, is there a CBD COA (Certificate of Authenticity or Certificate of Analysis) that you can easily view online? Not only is it important for you to see what is in the gummy, it is the law in several states. It is truly important. Not only should the consumer of CBD gummies view the COA for potency (making sure they are legal with the USDA Farm Bill), but you will want to look at other possible contaminants. Pacific Roots tests for what is called a full panel COA. We look for all sorts of potential toxins and contaminants like: pesticides, and residual solvents.
Third, gummies that are made of gelatin are not vegan (if this is important to you) and will easily melt. If you are looking for a true nature plant-based CBD gummy, look for pectin only gummies.
Finally, A CBD company should have a Medical Director on staff. Most people are taking CBD for the potential health benefits and this should be under the direction of a company that takes this seriously with a doctor on staff.
When combining these with a trusted company like Pacific Roots you will see customer reviews that show quality:
“I have never tasted such a great gummy. Not only that, but it is the CBD in it that I have been looking for. My stress has come way down since I started taking these CBD gummies. Thank you so much.” – Beth M.
We don’t want our great gummies with their wellness benefits to be mistaken for candy (though they do taste great!). Also, some states have made CBD gummy bears illegal. Pacific Roots wants to stay ahead of the curve and only offer gummies that are marked with the letters “CBD”.
People simply like the taste of the gummy and are familiar with them. Gummies are something everyone has had at one time or another in their lives.
Each bottle of CBD gummies are mixed with strawberry and blueberry. Every CBD gummy is sugar coated.
When taking CBD gummies, it typically takes at least 60 minutes to start noticing the effects. Depending on the amount of CBD you take and your body’s endocannabinoid system the effects will have varying results.
CBD’s effects are always individual. A serving size can be as small as 1mg and go up to 250mg. To find the amount of CBD that’s right for you, start with the lowest dosage and then wait a couple of hours to see how your body reacts. From there, increase the dosage slowly as needed, until you find the right dosage for your body.
For first time consumers, we suggest starting with one CBD gummy and working up to more if needed, however, every person is different. It is really important to listen to your body!
The good news is they are made with pectin (vegan) so they don’t melt easily. However, never keep the gummies directly in the sun. Sun can reduce the CBD potency. Keep the CBD gummies out of the sun in a dark and dry location at room temperature or in the refrigerator (do not freeze).
The short answer is no, you cannot overdose on CBD and you are not likely to get sick. A 2017 W.H.O. Report concluded that CBD is “generally well-tolerated with a good safety profile”. The report also states that “in humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.” However, according to another study published in 2017 some people may experience side effects, including fatigue, diarrhea, changes in appetite, and changes in weight. Because of this, we recommend starting with a lower dose and building up as you know how your body reacts to CBD.
Always consult your doctor to make sure CBD is safe for you. CBD can interact with some prescription medications and should never be used/taken if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed on a CBD tincture product container, do not use the product.
Full Spectrum CBD is a whole-plant cannabidiol (CBD) oil with high concentrations of CBD, as well as all other cannabinoids, terpenes, and trace amounts of THC, which are found in the cannabis plant.
Full spectrum CBD oil is derived from hemp and per federal regulations cannot be used if the finished products have more than 0.3% THC.
THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the chemical found in marijuana and is responsible for most of its psychological effects. Per the National Institute on Drug Abuse, THC acts a lot like the cannabinoid chemicals made naturally by the body.
Full spectrum CBD that is legal under the USDA Farm Bill does not contain enough THC to cause any of the psychological effects referred to above.
In some cases, cannabinoid products may be made from marijuana and can have more than 0.3% THC. Pacific Roots does not sell these types of products.

The entourage effect is the theory that cannabidiol (CBD) works better when all the compounds in cannabis work together. The compounds produce a better effect together than when they are taken alone.
This is a subjective question as everyone has a different condition that they are working on. Some clients ingest CBD once a day, while others may need several doses per day. Newcomers may want to start with one CBD serving to see how they react and then increase the usage over time, if needed. Your body will be the judge regarding the correct dosage.
Hemp-derived CBD products (with less than 0.3 percent THC) are legal on the federal level, but are still illegal under some state laws. Check your state’s laws and those of anywhere you travel. Non-prescription CBD products are not FDA-approved.
Full spectrum gummies that contain at or less than 0.3% THC and have been tested in third-party labs for potency and contaminants pass the USDA Farm Bill test.
Please check with the state you are located in. Each state has different rules. Pacific Roots does not recommend that our CBD gummies be used by anyone under the age of 18 without parental consent.
To check if there is really CBD in your CBD gummy, look for a COA (Certificate of Analysis) from a 3rd Party Source (this means that it is tested by a laboratory not affiliated with the manufacturer).
A product made from CBD Isolate, should have a graph, diagram or analysis similar to the images below. It should have no other cannabinoids other than CBD (with possible small amounts of CBD-V or CBD-A). It should have non-detectable amounts of THC.
A product made from Broad Spectrum CBD, should have a graph, diagram or analysis similar to the images below. It could have other cannabinoids other than CBD (such as CBG, CBN, etc) but there should be non-detectable amounts of THC.

Pacific Roots always uses oils (isolates and distillates) that meet specific criteria for safety, quality, and transparency. Each of our products use oils that:
- are made and tested at third-party laboratories that are ISO certified
- are made with USA organically grown hemp
- contain no more than 0.3% THC following manufacturing
- pass tests for harmful materials like pesticides and solvents
- are manufactured in a cGMP facility
- are sustainably farmed
- are non-GMO
- are fully licensed with state authorities
- follow documented Standard Operating Procedures
- are approved by CBDTQM guidelines
You need to find a trusted CBD manufacturing company. A company that focuses on quality and transparency is key to finding a CBD gummy that is safe and effective. Two main quality items to keep an eye open for are COAs and a medical director.
A COA or certificate of analysis is a test that can show CBD potency and sometimes purity. A quality manufacturer will have two rounds of COA testing. The first round should be a third-party test of the raw CBD oil. This first test should analyze the purity of the oil, from pesticides to residual solvents. The second test is another third-party test on the finished product that should be easily accessible to the user. This second test looks at the potency of the CBD product making sure it is in compliance with the USDA Farm Bill.
Having a medical director on staff is essential when manufacturing CBD products for human use. Cannabidiol has a large effect on human bodily systems. Once CBD enters the body it passes through the bloodstream and interacts with the endocannabinoid system. The medical director will have direct knowledge of the human body and the endocannabinoid system, and help to an extent in formulating the correct CBD dosage and product formulation.
A final note. There are other quality markers to look at that all CBD manufacturing companies should follow such as: no added fillers, organically grown hemp, non-GMO, licensed hemp manufacturer in their state (you should be able to ask for and see their hemp permit), and product liability insurance. Unfortunately, there is a big gap in the market for quality CBD products. Pacific Roots CBD products have the highest quality control on the market to ensure product safety, called the CBDTQM guidelines.
